Local resident and Master Gardener℠ volunteer, Chris Stadther, received a 2018 NCEMGVA Outstanding Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Award on June 8th at the NCEMGVA Conference in Greenville. Chris contributes in many ways having a positive impact; alternately leading and adding to team efforts, creating educational programs and inspiring others to love gardening. Chris has been a Master Gardener since 2009 and has volunteered over 3500 hours for the residents of Dare County.

The NCEMGVA, the North Carolina Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association is the professional organization for Master Gardeners across North Carolina. Established in 1991 to aid in improving the effectiveness of its members as volunteers in the Master Gardener Volunteer program, the NCEMGVA also serves as the liaison between Master Gardeners and the NC State University Horticulture Department.
