Overview: The 4-H Electric Program is an informal hands-on program where young people learn about the fundamentals of electricity, renewable energy technologies, and energy conservation. Activities include learning how to solder, understanding the difference between series and parallel circuits, and assembling a can lamp. Youth learn many life skills while participating in this program, but also generate more enthusiasm for science and technology. Youth ages 9 & up interested in the electric field are encouraged to apply for this program. Since 1947, Duke Energy and Dominion Energy have sponsored the annual Electric Congress to emphasize electrical energy concepts, conservation, and safe, efficient use. Please visit https://nc4h.ces.ncsu.edu/electric/ for more information about this exciting opportunity!
