•Coordinate field research by implementing fruit and vegetable experiments, collecting data, and supervising field crew. •Monitor seasonal insect populations in apple orchards in multiple counties through scouting, trapping, and degree-day modeling. •Create and update websites and other outreach materials with information about insect activity, population trends, and degree-day modeling, as well as publishing fact sheets and current news for commercial growers and the general public. •Analyze research data and prepare reports. •Support county extension personnel through data delivery, insect specimen and damage identification, and outreach.
