The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Dare County is closed to the public until further notice. Our staff and volunteers can still be reached via phone or email. Master Gardener℠ volunteers in Dare County will be available on the back porch of the Thomas Baum Senior Center every Wednesday from March to October, weather permitting from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring your garden questions, samples, and photos or pick up a soil sample kit.
Also on Wednesdays, you will find Master Gardener℠ volunteers working throughout the Outer Banks Arboretum & Teaching Garden and they are always happy to answer your questions.
The Outer Banks Arboretum & Teaching Garden is free, open 365 days a year from sun-up to sun-down. There are handicap-accessible trails, a sensory garden, a composting demonstration area, native plants, lawn test plots, a butterfly highway, and much more! The Outer Banks Arboretum & Teaching Garden is located at 300 Mustian Street, Kill Devil Hills.
Can’t make it on Wednesdays? The Master Gardener℠ volunteers are also available at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Dare County office in Manteo on Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon and can be reached by email at greenlineobx@gmail.com or by phone at 252-473-4290. The N.C.
