COVID-19 Update

N.C. Cooperative Extension in Dare County Update:

We continue to work with county and state health officials, as well as NC State and N.C. A&T State Universities, to monitor the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. To help prevent the spread of the virus, effective immediately and until further notice, Dare County has closed our Extension Office to the public.
Our Extension Agents and staff are still available via email and phone, and will continue to assist you to the best of their ability. Find contact info and details regarding N.C. Cooperative Extension in Dare County operations on our website.
We are postponing our upcoming programs through May 20, 2020. We will provide updated dates and times as soon as we have them. This includes the following planned programs:
  • Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Library Series on March 24 and 25
  • 4-H Mini Terrarium Workshop on March 31
  • Pesticide Safety School on April 1-2
  • Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Yard Sale on April 3-4
  • Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Library Series on April 7
  • Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association of Dare County Meeting and Program on April 16
  • Eastern 4-H Center Open House on April 19
  • Azalea Time in the Arboretum on April 22
  • 4-H at Earth Fair OBX on April 22
  • Cook Smart Eat Smart Series on April 7, 14, 21, and 28
  • Eastern Regional 4-H Horse Show on May 1, 2, and 3
  • 4-H at KidsFest on May 8
  • North Carolina Craft Workshop on May 12 and 13
  • 4-H Public Speaking Workshop on May 14
  • Coastal Gardening Festival on May 16
  • All 4-H Club Meetings
Please know that these changes are intended to protect the health and safety of our community while striving to provide the resources and services you need. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and act consistent with local, state, and national recommendations.
