The Camellia is one of the most desirable plants of a Southern garden. There are over 3000 different camellia cultivars, with blooms varying in colors, sizes, and forms. It is a large, evergreen shrub that can reach a height of 6 to 12 feet at maturity. Camellias can live an extraordinarily long time, with some specimens living well over 200 years.
